Gymnastics is a demanding sport that involves training three to four hours per day and demands strength, stability, coordination and balance. Injuries occur frequently for most gymnasts. Lars has taken his health seriously and he is cooperating with the physiotherapists at Redcord Clinic. The sport-specific exercises in Redcord have functioned as a ‘medicine’ for joint stability and rehabilitation as soon as he experiences minor injuries and muscle overload.
Injury-free with Redcord – effective training, better results!
After a demanding week in the Norwegian championship his shoulder was overloaded, painful and stiff. “Off to Redcord Clinic!” said Storhaug. After half an hour with physiotherapist Gitle Kirkesola, his shoulder was painless and fully recovered. So Lars was able to go to Berlin a few days later to participate in the international junior team cup. Lars received his highest all-round mark and was clearly the best Nordic junior gymnast.
Grew up with Redcord
Lars has a special relationship with Redcord: he has literally ‘grown up’ in the Redcord slings. It was his grandfather who started the business, so Lars has played in the slings since he was two or three years old. The joy of challenging and controlling the body in the ropes and on the trampoline in the garden inspired him to start gymnastics.
After a few years he started more systematic training. He improved gradually over the years. His partnership with the Redcord Clinic in Norway has kept him injury-free by treating minor injuries and providing preventive stability training. (The only serious injury he has sustained is a wrist fracture a few years ago.)
